Wisdom for Your Walk: High-Fidelity

The book of James seems to be most concerned about people who profess faith in God and his Son Jesus, but they don’t have genuine, real faith. They talk-the-talk, but they don’t walk-the-walk. And so, James’ goal in his writing is to help believers achieve genuine, whole, perfect, unwavering faith in God. His goal is to equip the family of God with wisdom for their walks with Jesus.

Reflection Questions:

  • How does labeling sin as adultery against God make you feel about your own sins?
  • How does it make you feel that even when we’ve fallen, God shows more, mega, great, loud grace toward us?
  • Humility should always be our proper response to God’s grace. Has this always been your response to God’s grace?
  • Think of the four phase restoration (1. Submitting to God. 2. Drawing near to God. 3. Clean hands and heart. 4. Mourning and weeping.) Which of these phases are you more familiar with? Which do you tend to skip?
