Spiritual Gifts Test

Spiritual Gifts Test

This assessment helps you reflect on how the Holy Spirit may be shaping you for ministry through the gifts described in Ephesians 4, Romans 12, and 1 Corinthians 12.

Important: This test is not a label, limitation, or spiritual rank. It is a conversation starter for prayer, discipleship, and faithful service in community.

How Long Will This Take?

The test has 110 questions across two sections, and most people finish in 15–25 minutes. There is no time pressure. You can stop at any point and finish later — use the Save & Finish Later button during the test, and we will email you a private link to pick up exactly where you left off. Your progress is also saved automatically in your browser, so if you simply come back to this page on the same device, your answers will still be here.

How to Take This Test

Answer each statement with your first instinct. Do not overthink it. Answer based on what is usually true of you right now — not what you wish were true, and not based on one unusual moment.

Some statements are worded differently to help you answer thoughtfully. Read each statement carefully and answer honestly. Do not answer based on what you think a mature Christian should say; answer based on what is usually true of you right now.

For the ministry gifts section, answer according to your normal pattern of desire, effectiveness, fruitfulness, and affirmation from others. For the miraculous gifts indicators section, remember that these questions do not determine whether you permanently “have” a miraculous gift. These gifts are given by the Holy Spirit as He wills for the good of others and the glory of Jesus. Your answers may reveal areas of openness, experience, affirmation, fruit, or needed growth. Answer honestly and humbly without pressure to exaggerate your experience.

Two Sections

Section 1: Ministry Gifts AssessmentThis section identifies your primary, secondary, and tertiary ministry gifts.
Section 2: Miraculous Gifts IndicatorsThis section is shown separately as indicators, not as primary or secondary gifts.

Two Important Distinctions

Universal callings vs. specific giftings: Every Christian is called to serve, give, show hospitality, intercede, witness, make disciples, and desire prophecy. A lower score in these areas does not excuse disobedience; it shows where growth may be needed.

Office vs. gift: Apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds, and teachers are Ephesians 4 equipping offices. A high score may show gifting or inclination, but the office is recognized, tested, and accountable in the church.

Share Your Results With People Who Know You

Spiritual gifts are recognized, tested, and confirmed in community — not just in private. Once you finish, we encourage you to share your results with one to three people who know you well and have seen your life up close. A spouse, a small group leader, a close friend, a pastor, or a long-time ministry partner can often see things you cannot see in yourself. Sometimes others will affirm what the test surfaces. Sometimes they will name a gift you have been overlooking. Sometimes they will gently push back on a result that does not match what they have observed. All of that is good and healthy.

On the next step you will have the option to send your results to up to three trusted people. This is completely optional, but we encourage it — the goal is not a label, but discernment in community.

Your Information

Share Your Results optional

If you'd like, enter the email of up to three people who know you well — a spouse, small group leader, close friend, or pastor. They'll receive a copy of your results along with a short note explaining why you're sharing it, so they can offer their perspective. You can leave any or all of these blank.
