Growth Groups are an essential part of our mission here at CCA. We believe our relational God created us to be in relationship with him and others.
The purpose of Growth Groups is to foster spiritual growth by deepening both our relationship with God and our connections with fellow believers. Through participation in a Growth Group, members receive sound biblical teaching, personal discipleship, and meaningful fellowship. Additionally, Growth Group leaders are called to identify and mentor spiritually mature members, preparing them to become future leaders who can establish and lead their own Growth Groups, further expanding the impact of our church community.
A typical Growth Group format looks something like this:
1. Worship:
– Begin with worship through song to create an atmosphere of praise and prepare hearts for the Word.
2. Bible Study & Discussion:
– Engage in Bible teaching followed by open discussion, encouraging group members to apply scripture to their lives and grow together in understanding.
3. Communion:
– Regularly share in Communion, either through traditional bread and grape juice or by sharing a meal together, fostering unity and remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice.
4. Prayer:
– Participate in corporate prayer, lifting up one another’s needs and praying for the broader church and community.
5. Service:
– Cultivate a culture of service, both within the group by caring for one another’s needs, and outside the group by engaging in outreach or service projects.
6. Fellowship:
– Promote Christian fellowship during regular gatherings and encourage connection outside of meeting times to build deeper relationships and support.
Growth Groups meet in person throughout the week in homes and other locations across Tucson. Each group is different. As groups grow it is our hope that more leaders would naturally develop and form their own groups with the guidance of the other group leaders.
