CCA COVID-19 Action Plan

CCA COVID-19 Action Plan

COVID-19 Action Plan

Dearest CCA Family,

Your CCA staff, elders, and council have been praying and talking about plans for our church family in light of the current COVID-19 situation. Please read in full so you are aware of how to stay connected to your church family and receive assistance if needed.

For at least the next two weeks, we will not be gathering at the church for our usual Sunday morning gathering. This decision comes at the recommendation of our national and local authorities, as well as our Assemblies of God leadership. So, for the next two weeks we will be doing things differently and utilizing technology and social media to #stayconnected.

That is our goal during this time: stay connected. We are in an interesting season. Because usually when difficulty or crisis comes our way, our human instinct is to congregate and lean on one another for support. But now we are being encouraged to isolate for our own safety, but also the safety of those who are most at risk.

As you can imagine, this is going to make it difficult to maintain connection with the family and community we love. But thank God for technology, which we can use to stay connected during this difficult time. So for us as a church family, we will mainly utilize email and Facebook to #stayconnected.

On Sunday mornings at our usual gathering time, 10:30AM, we will live stream worship and a message to Facebook. But this isn’t just going to be a sit down and watch kind of live stream. I am going to tailor the messages to be interactive by asking questions and looking for input from our church family who are watching online. I have already asked specific leaders in our church to be available during those times to chat and comment during the message and to help foster conversation.

Some of our Growth Groups will still meet during the week, but not all. So if you are a part of a Growth Group, please contact your Growth Group Leader to find out what the plans are for your group. Since some groups will not be meeting and in order to #stayconnected, we plan to live stream prayer and worship events, as well as devotional times throughout the week that you can be a part of. We are even discussing having some kind of online book or Bible study.

So since we are utilizing email and Facebook to #stayconnected, please keep an eye out on your email accounts. Also, download the Facebook app and reactivate your accounts if needed. I know some have their concerns about Facebook, but it will be a great tool to #stayconnected during this time of social distancing.

Finally, I know there are some in our church family who are being asked to not come into work which means they are not being paid. I know there are some who have material needs because stores are out of stock of so many essential items. And if you are in need, we as a church family want to help as much as we can.

So I first want to ask that if you are still working and are able, 1) please continue to be obedient and faithful with your tithe. And 2) would you consider giving above and beyond your tithe to our Compassion Fund? The church council has come up with a plan to receive assistance requests and distribute funds or goods as needed to assist those who might need help paying utilities or rent or who might need essential material goods. Whatever you give towards the compassion fund will be used to assist our church family in need and if able, those outside the church who might need help too.

You can go to https://centralcityonline.churchcenter.com/giving to continue giving your tithe and also designate extra to our Compassion Fund.

Secondly, if you have extra essential material goods, would you set some aside for someone in need? Or if you are at the store and come across some of those essentials, would you buy some for yourself and for someone else in need? And then, on this Sunday, March 22nd, from 9:00AM-12:00PM you can come to the church to drop those items off and we will make sure they are distributed to those in our church family who need them.

What kind of essential goods might people need?

•Hygiene Products    • Baby Diapers, Wipes, and Formula    •Nonperishable Foods

And if you or someone you know is in need of assistance, please follow this link to complete a Compassion Assistance Request Form. You can send completed and signed forms to ask@centralcityonline.org.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message and sharing with others who might need this information. Know that you are not alone during this difficult time. Our heavenly Father is with you, your CCA church family is here for you, and we look forward to #stayingconnected in the coming weeks.

Many Blessings and Much Love,

Pastor Kai and your CCA Family
